God’s love is often couched in the idea of a reverent ‘fear’ of Him. Somehow this concept of fearing God is not amiss among the greats like David, Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Elijah, Daniel, Paul… But it is a lost idea among us. A proper understanding of God’s love afforded them not just boldness before people but also reverence before God. They found the boldness to stand before kings and against evil. But they also cultivated a holy fear that kept them in check from falling.
